Steve, I read Don's article. The odd thing about such articles is that they refer to Rom 12 and our being part of the church, and then use that as an argument that Christians must join the organization down on the corner. Do you belong to the church referred to in Romans? Do the folks in San Diego who so ministered to you? Do they belong to a different church? Can you find a reference to different churches in Romans 12? If that is all one church, and the unbelievers who happen to be present are not in that Church, though welcome and loved, then why aren't others who believe in that Church? Why do some argue that they have left the church?
All these comments are as to organization. I agree with what Don said about isolation.
